The 5th IOTM will take place in Beatenberg, Switzerland. Participants will be accommodated in the Budget-Hotel Beatenberg-Interlaken
How to reach Beatenberg?
Coming by plane: The nearest airport is Zurich Airport. From there the most convenient way is to take the train from the airport to Interlaken-West. There are direct trains from Zurich Airport to Bern where you will have to change to a train going to Interlaken-West. Usually the train for Interlaken-West is coming on the same platform.
You will find the railway timetable on the web site of the Swiss federal railways, SBB/CFF. The travel time from Zurich airport to Interlaken-West is about 2.15 hours. The cost of one-way ticket is about 70 CHF. Tickets can be bought in advance on the SBB/CFF web site.
We shall do our best to bring the participants of the 5th IOTM to the Budget-Hotel Beatenberg from the railway station Interlaken-West, according to the arrival/departure time they provide us with. But please note that there is a “Postbus” (line 1) to Beatenberg running every hour from the railway station Interlaken-West. The bus stop next to the Budget-Hotel is called “Post”.

If your plane arrives late in the afternoon/evening at Zurich airport, we recommend you to stay for one night in Zurich and maybe take the opportunity to visit this beautiful city, go shopping on the “Bahnhofstrasse” and/or make a boat trip on the Lake of Zurich. We can give you some hotel addresses at/near Zurich airport or in Zurich city.

Coming by car: Beatenberg can of course be easily reached by car. If you come by private car drive past Interlaken till the sign: “Beatenberg/Habkern”. The Budget-Hotel is situated on the main street 1 km from the beginning of the village.
